Today was another fine day in the city of trees, perfect weather for another Boise Flash Mob event. The weather was warm, and was absolutely great for being outdoors! After being cooped up at work in a cramped backoffice while working on my trusty laptop, it sure felt good to get outside and… well, dance in front of Boise City Hall. However, it was a bit different than having a live DJ in the city hall plaza. Check out this cool footage taken by a fellow flash-mobber.

(after the jump)

That’s right. Today’s event twas a SILENT disco. We all had set our iPods and MP3 players to start cranking out the tunes at exactly 5:15. We then jammed out, heads banging, dancing in the plaza, and showing off our awesome dance and disco moves to the bewildered public and drivers on Capitol Blvd and Main Street.

Remember, we were all listening on headphones. As you can tell from the video, the outsiders couldn’t hear a single note. No live DJs, no boomboxes, no portable amps or speakers. Just silence. Neat, huh?

At 5:30, the plan was pretty straightforward: disperse. Those were the best 15 minutes of my weekend! And tomorrow hasn’t even happened yet! But, it’s only church for me tomorrow. So I think these 15 minutes will still take the cake.

Also, as promised (but forgotten, my bad), I finally got my footage edited from the last flash mob excursion, the non-protest:
