A Story of a Boy and His Minivan, Part II

Well, I don’t know if this will be the final part of this story. But whatever. Here is part two!
Pretty cool, huh? This was my pimpin’ ride, the car I drove to and from school, work and town every day. I know you’re jealous.
Another one of my favorite stories involves, once again, the stubborn side door. One of our group’s favorite restaurants to chill at was Burger N Brew on State Street. We would go there on a somewhat regular basis. After one of our get-togethers at Burger N Brew, I was stopped at the signal at State Street and Willow Lane, waiting to turn west onto State. I apparently made the turn too quickly, and the sliding door started falling off AGAIN! However, what’s different about this door problem? Well, this time around, I was driving on a 5-lane commuter road, in the dark, nowhere near anybody’s home, as opposed to a 2-lane neighborhood street, with my friend’s house just down the street. As a quick movement, I proceeded to pull off to the right in the next parking lot I came upon. This happened to be the parking lot of the one, and only, Night Moves, our friendly West Boise adult nightclub.
Here we were, in a ghetto van, all of us getting out and slamming the door with our body weight to get it back on track. All directly in front of a adult nightclub. None of us could stop laughing the entire time. How often does this happen?!
Another quick story here, we were going to sneak into a rated R movie, using my 18-year old friend as our ticket master, so to speak. As we were waiting to turn left onto Overland Road, a funky disco song came on the radio, and we all proceeded to shake the van violently by thrusting our body weight from side-to-side. Remember, we were in heavy traffic, at a red light, surrounded by cars. I’m sure these people were wondering what exactly we were doing… and two people in a pickup truck behind us in the other left turn lane also began violently shaking their jacked up truck, as best they could.
As we proceeded down Overland after the light, the shaking truck began driving alongside me, we both rolled down our windows, and cranked up the music! They started driving faster, and passed us. During which, the woman in the passenger seat put her hands out the window and began doing a paddle movement, as if she was paddling past us in a boat. They were obviously high on something!! Best trip to the movie theater, ever.
Stay tuned. I’m planning on posting another tidbit of minivan adventures in the coming days!
