A NEW ChowderBlog!
Author: ChowderNov 18
So I really liked my other theme, and I found it kinda hard to part with the other theme. But my good friend Lauren said it was boring… I actually helped her set up her own Wordpress blog (albeit it’s not on the Bandrox server…) yesterday. I discovered a lot of different third party theme sites, and so I found this one, and I like it!
Idaho State Highway 16: A TRUE Highway to Hell
Author: ChowderNov 13
Sorry, I hate stealing lines from songs to prove a point. But this seems to fit my feelings towards Idaho State Highway 16, a (deadly) 65-MPH commuter highway that connects Emmett and Star, ID. I’ve always held some kind of indignation about this highway, which I’m forced to drive on if I want to do anything, save stay at home and play Guitar Hero all day.
First off, I’d like to start with a chronological timeline of accidents that have occurred on Highway 16. I just searched KTVB.com for “highway 16” to get some more information.

We interrupt the ChowderBlog to bring you an important piece of news…
The Bandrox Server (the home of ChowderBlog) will be undergoing some maintenance and service either later this week or early next week. For details, please see this post in the Bandrox Blog.
We now return you to the random ramblings of the ChowderBlog.

**UPDATE 11/18/09** – The parts have been ordered, and will be here either tomorrow or Friday. It’s rather unfortunate that it took so long to order the parts, but they’re finally on the way here, and everything will be taken care of very soon!
Random Ramblings: District III Marching Festival, Boise (part III)

First off, I want to thank Cody (bandrox admin) for fixing an issue between Windows Live Writer and this WordPress blog. Pictures should be working for good now.

So, where did I leave off? Oh yes, a drunk midget! Well, maybe. So the story begins as Cody and I were driving back to Eagle High School in his car. We were stopped at the light at State Street and Saxton Drive (in front of the Garden City Wal-Mart) behind a big GMC Sierra truck, similar to the one pictured. As the light turned green, this large truck began accelerating… at an insanely low pace. We didn’t know what was going on, by the time we drove about 200 feet away from the light the truck was only going about 15 MPH. What the beef? AND THEN, the truck begins swerving all over the road, and nearly drives off the shoulder into a small ditch. Cody decided to change into the other lane (for obvious reasons) to drive around the truck. As we were right next to this large truck (remember, we’re in a small Honda Civic), the truck decides to change lanes also, forcing us into the center turn lane. At this point, I pulled out my phone and called 911. I told dispatch what was going on, we got a license plate number of the truck and told them exactly where we were. As we were right alongside this truck again, we notice their headlights weren’t on. The parking lights were on, but no headlights. I rolled down the window to see inside the truck, and was speechless when I saw who was in the truck.
It was a midget. A drunk midget. OR it may have been a child. I told dispatch that I thought it was either a midget or a kid driving this truck. Cody decided to get the heck out of there, so we lost the truck quickly. We saw it turn onto Duncan Lane, and I told dispatch that’s where he turned. They asked for my phone number if they needed to call me back, and they dispatched police to the area, and our call ended.
Cody decided to go back to the Duncan Lane / Hill Road Parkway area to see if we could find the guy again, but we didn’t see any sign of the truck (or cops either…). We knew something would probably happen anyways considering we gave them a great description of the truck, AND a license plate number.
So if you ever drive the area of State Street between Horseshoe Bend Road and Glenwood Street, watch out for drunk midgets (or small children) driving big GMC trucks!!
And this concludes our DIII marching festival festivities.
